Just one small comment about Fireproof and the book the Love Dare. Anytime you see a "technique" that states if you do this and give this, your marriage will be better is generally wrong...that is what makes couples end up in counseling in the first place, demands that will never satisfy long term. I demand that my wife give me respect...well, how much can she give before I find out that it will never be enough right? And then I've made her a slave to dishing out respect until I feel better? It's like the five love languages, our love language is nothing more than what we are greedy to get, not how we can best be loved...Christ rarely loves us the way we WANT or think we NEED....many of my clients had hope in this book and crashed months later when they realized, this is a "fix it" book and God never promises that within our marriages. Sorry, guess this ended up being longer than I thought....thanks for allowing the post!
